The Ear
Ear Lobe Piercing
The Ear Lobe piercing at ADRENALIN can be performed with the hollow surgical needle method.
Getting your ear lobe pierced with a hollow surgical needle, means that you can immediately install a wide range of Body Jewellery rings made from Titanium, Solid 18ct Gold or Implantation grade Surgical Stainless Steel or high quality Titanium studs. Wearing rings in the ear lobe is actually much better as it is so much easier to clean the piercing and ring as opposed to a stud . Ear lobes can also swell when pierced and studs have been known to pull into the piercing due to swelling and people sleeping on their ear.
At ADRENALIN we will not use ear piercing guns on anything. Ear Piercing guns cannot be sterilised in an autoclave because their inner parts can melt or rust.
Note: Autoclaving is the only effective way to kill viruses and diseases such as Hepatitis and HIV.
Healing Time
The Healing time for the Ear lobe Piercing varies greatly from person to person but is usually around 6 weeks.

If you choose a ring for the initial piercing you will find it easier to clean the piercing and it won't matter so much if it swells a little. Many people, however, choose studs for the initial piercing (as long as the lobe is not too thick) and can heal up just fine.
Once your piercing has fully healed you can change your jewellery whenever you wish. But to avoid complications you should always wear good quality body jewellery of appropriate size and thickness. There is a huge range of Body Jewellery available at ADRENALIN made from materials such as: Titanium, Surgical Steel, 18ct Gold, Anodised or Blackened Niobium, & Acrylic.

The Ear Cartilage Piercing
Nostrils and Ear Cartilage piercings should only be performed with the hollow surgical needle method of piercing, just the same as with other body piercings.
There are also several intricate types of ear cartilage piercings available which most people are unaware of. These include: The Outer rim (the standard or most popular cartilage piercing), Helix, Tragus, Conch, and Rook piercings. I will add pictures of these piercings to this page soon as it is very difficult to describe in words exactly where each one is and what they look like.

At ADRENALIN we will not use ear piercing guns to pierce anything. Ear Piercing guns cannot be sterilised in an autoclave because inside parts can melt or corrode. Piercings done with a sharp hollow surgical needle will normally heal much faster, have much less chance of causing lumps on or around the piercing, usually don't throb much afterwards and allow high quality body jewellery rings to be installed at the time of the piercing.

Healing Time
The Healing time for the Ear Cartilage Piercings varies greatly from person to person and from piercing to piercing, but is usually between 8 weeks and 6 months. If the piercing is torn or traumatized the piercing can take longer to heal and you also increase your risks of developing lumps or scars around the piercing.
Ear Cartilage Jewellery
Bead rings made from Titanium, Implantation grade Surgical Steel or 18ct Gold are the most popular choice. If you choose a ring for the initial piercing you will find it much easier to clean the piercing and it won't matter so much if it swells a little. Many people, however, choose studs or barbells for the initial piercing and heal up fine. As with most piercings, it is extremely important to have the right size (i.e. diameter and thickness) of jewellery in your piercing. This will reduce the throbbing after the piercing and also reduce the chance of developing lumps and scars.
