The Frenum Piercing
The Frenum Piercing is the second most popular Male genital piercing at Adrenalin Body Piercing. The Frenum Piercing is usually placed on the underside on the penis through the loose skin approximately 1 to 2cm down the shaft away from the Glans. Many people choose to get several of these piercings down the length of the shaft and this is often referred to as a "ladder". However the piercing if done through the loose skin near the Glans you will have a better chance of healing the piercing and less chance of it migrating out. The Frenum Piercing usually feels good to the wearer whilst having sex as long as it doesn't cause the skin to be pinched between the Frenum and a Prince Albert piercing. If jewellery is not removed before sex then appropriate jewellery must be worn or consequences can be very serious!! read more below.
Healing Time
The healing time for the Frenum Piercing varies between people but is usually around 2-3 months, however they will take extra time to "toughen up". Be gentle with your new piercing, keep it clean and if you choose to have sex with the jewellery in place make sure that the jewellery is sturdy enough and thick enough to cope with it and be sure to wear a condom to avoid infections.
Make sure your piercer gives you detailed "Aftercare" instructions on exactly how to care for your new piercings. This can make a huge difference to whether your piercing will heal up quickly and stay where positioned or to not heal and migrate through the skin.
Frenum Piercing Jewellery
The jewellery used in the new Frenum Piercing can be either the Barbell or the Circular barbell ring. Circular Barbells also enable easy cleaning of the piercing as it has no irregular edges or joins that can be rotated accidentally through the piercing. Barbells are highly recommend for this piercing too provided that the barbell is long enough to allow the barbell to be slid back and forth for a thorough cleaning of the piercing. Any irregular surface on your jewellery or deep scratches can carry bacteria or aggravate the piercing when the jewellery is rotated during cleaning.
If a ring or barbell is your chosen jewellery than stretching the piercing to accommodate a thicker gauge ring is advisable as the thicker jewellery will not aggravate your piercing so much during sex and the ring will be much stiffer. You must also ensure the balls on the jewellery remain tightly secure so prevent losing a ball. (You really don't want this to happen during sex!!).
Straight Barbells, Circular Barbells or Curved Barbells are a safer jewellery to wear if you intend to have sex with the jewellery in place. This type of jewellery has two balls on it, one of these balls is usually fixed and the other can be unscrewed for installation and firmly tighten to avoid the risk of the jewellery coming apart during sex. Barbells are often more expensive then Bead Rings but it is you and your partners well being that's important.
The type of the jewellery you choose plays a big part in the healing process so make sure you always get pierced with top quality jewellery of appropriate size, make sure the Barbell length is long enough or the ring diameter is large enough when the penis is erect! If the wrong size or thickness of jewellery is used it can greatly increase the chance of the ring migrating through the skin or badly aggravating the piercing.
Healed Frenum Jewellery
Once your piercing has fully healed you can change your jewellery whenever you wish. But to avoid complications you should always wear good quality body jewellery of appropriate size and thickness. Stretching up to thicker jewellery is a good idea but going down to a smaller thickness is not a good idea as the piercing can shrink down to the new thin size and be more prone to aggravation or tearing. There is a huge range of Hand-Made & Mass-Produced Body Jewellery available at Adrenalin made from materials such as: Titanium, Surgical Steel, 18ct Gold, Anodised or Blackened Niobium.
There is also a Frenum loop which can be combined with a Straight barbell and the loop encircles the shaft of the penis. Some people also like wear a large diameter ring through the Frenum Piercing which is the same diameter as the Penis shaft, the ring is flipped over the head of the penis but will only stay in place if there is a defined ridge where the Glans meet the penis shaft. In practice the Frenum loop often is not a successful piece of jewellery as the penis changes in size the jewellery can become too tight or too lose enabling the loop to flip back over the top of the Glans.

The Hafada Piercing
The Hafada Piercing is also called the scrotum piercing and is often done in pairs on either side of the scrotum or as a single row down the centre seam of the scrotum. In ancient times this piercing was apparently done to male slaves where a locking device (a fibula) was used to try and stop them from having sex. The Guiche Piercing
The Guiche Piercing (pronounced geesh) is not a very common piercing as they can take a long time to heal and can migrate through the skin. If you are into bicycle riding think twice about this one. The Guiche piercing is placed through the skin between the scrotum and the anus. This piercing apparently originated in Tahiti region in the South Pacific. Even sleeping on your side can aggravate this piercing when your legs are close together they can squash and twist the jewellery which can be quite uncomfortable.
Healing Time
The healing time for the Guiche Piercing varies between people but is usually around 6 months, or more.

The Ampallang Piercing
The Ampallang Piercing is a horizontal piercing through the head of the Penis. This piercing has been found in Borneo, New guinea and parts of the Philippines.
The Ampallang is not one of the common piercings as it is often considered too extreme. The actual piercing takes many seconds to perform as the tissue inside the penis head is quite tough and fibrous. As it is a long tough piercing the straightness of this piercing cannot be guaranteed, they can also migrate during healing too.
The placement of this piercing is extremely important. Excessive bleeding can also occur. It must also be decided if the piercing is to go through or above the urethra. If you are considering getting this piercing done then do lots of research and go to an experienced Professional Piercer that has had experience in doing the Ampallang safely and competently. Make sure they are skilled and comfortable in doing this kind of piercing and not just a blaze attitude "yeah, I'll try anything" type of piercer.
Healing Time
The healing time for the Ampallang Piercing varies between people but is usually 6 to 12 months however for some people they do not fully heal and will continue to weep a discharge from the piercing indefinitely.
Ampallang Jewellery
The jewellery used for the Ampallang Piercing is usually a 14 to 10 gauge straight barbell, which has to be long enough so the barbell balls don't pull into or aggravate the piercing, when the penis is erect (6mm balled barbells are a good choice for the initial piercing). The inside distance between the barbells balls is better to be a few millimeters longer than necessary and will make aftercare cleaning easier. Once the "Amp" has healed up than a bit shorter jewellery is usually worn some experimenting with different sized ball on the ends of the barbell may also be needed.

The Apadravya Piercing
The Apadravya Piercing is a vertical piercing through the head of the Penis. This piercing mentioned in the Hindu book "The Karma Sutra" and is done through the healed Prince Albert Piercing but continues up and through the top of the penis head approximately 1cm from the edge of the Glans towards the tip of the penis.
The Apadravya, like the Ampallang, is not one of the common piercings as it is often considered: too extreme, the actual piercing is performed quite slowly to increase accuracy, the experience can be quite painful and they can take a long time to heal.
As the Prince Albert Piercing is done off to one side of the web of skin behind the Glans, then to continue this healed piercing up for the Apadravya piercing will be on a slight angle. People that like to be symmetrical can have a problem with this issue.

Apadravya Jewellery
