The Nipple Piercing

~

The Nipple Piercing is a popular piercing for both men and women. Often people say their sensation in the nipple has increased due to the piercing although some people, a smaller percentage, have thought their nipple sensation has decreased. The nipple once pierced also may also grow a little. The nipple is usually pierced horizontally but can be also be pierced vertically or even on an angle.

Male nipples are often not large enough to be pierced just through the tip of the nipple so is is usual for men's nipple to be pierced a little deeper into the areola. (The pigmented area surrounding the nipple).

Women's nipples are often large enough to be pierced at the base of the nipple in line with the curve of the breast.

Some people have a third nipple on their chest but as it is usually quite small it is not often pierced but some very lucky people can get it pierced too! Photos apearing on these pages soon!

Healing Time

The Healing time for the Nipple Piercing varies greatly from person to person but is usually around 3-6 months but sometimes longer. Make sure your piercer gives you detailed "Aftercare" instructions on how exactly to care for your new piercings. Sometimes the nipple piercing will not fully heal and always secrete a small amount discharge on the ring that can be washed off in the shower.

Nipple Piercing Jewellery

Jewellery that is appropriate for the initial Nipple piercing includes Captured Bead Rings (CBRs), Barbells or Circular Barbells. Bead rings are a popular choice of jewellery for the initial piercing as they are cheaper and make it much easier to clean the piercing compared with a barbell. Barbells if used must be long enough to allow for cleaning the piercing but therefore also have a higher risk of getting barbells caught on clothing etc.

Titanium CBRs are the best choice for most people.

The type of the jewellery you choose plays a big part in the healing process so make sure you always get pierced with top quality jewellery of appropriate size. If the wrong size or thickness of jewellery is used it can greatly increase the chance of the ring migrating down or out of the nipple.

Healed Nipple Jewellery

Once your piercing has fully healed you can change your jewellery whenever you wish. But to avoid complications you should always wear good quality body jewellery of appropriate size and thickness. There is a huge range of Body Jewellery available at ADRENALIN such as: Titanium CBR rings; Implantation grade Surgical Steel Rings; Curved, Circular or Straight Barbells; 18ct Gold jewellery; Anodised or Blackened Niobium rings; Continuous rings; Custom-made Jewellery or or you can just change the bead or add a "Charm" to your existing ring.
